$25.00 Plus a $5.00 Kit fee payable to Barbara

A Coloring, Shading and Embroidery Project. This is a handwork project. You will trace a Crab Apple Hill pattern (will be provided), and then will lean the following techniques:

color/tint, setting the colors, basting to muslin or flannel, hand embroidery (backstitch, cross stitch, stem stitch and French knots), then trimming to  size.  Your project ends up 8 ½ x 10 ½. Pattern is Fondest Regards, Block #5

Anelie Belden - Jelly Roll/Split Blade Dresden

This class will be detailing how to make a “Split Blade” Dresden that are created by using precut 2 ½” strips, also known as “Jelly Rolls”.  Anelie will teach the Modern way to piece this Dresden block using her stitch-n-flip technique featured in her book, which requires no applique.  Students can choose from a variety of different designs.

Joy-Lily - Dying and Discharging

Create your own batik-style fabrics. Learn how to use colorfast dyes--try simple immersion, shibori, percolation and even paint ombre fat quarters for use in the afternoon.  Then screen print, stamp, free paint and leaf print, using a combination of colorant and bleach on your newly dyed cottons. You will Steam-iron the images to reveal glowing colors on dark backgrounds.
